Looking For a Way Home

    October 16--The ship (Spicer's Ship) on which White was boarded slowly drifted towards a coast of Ireland.  It was by the town of Smerwick and the villagers must have seen this thing before for they rushed aboard the ship and tended to the survivors.  They brought water and medicines.  Then Captain Spicer, along with John White were rowed to the shore.

    They were both very sick and weak.  Despite this fact, White searched the whole harbor and area for a captain and ship that could take him back home.  Every captain had the answer no.  Without a moment to lose, White borrowed a horse from a local villager and galloped to even more towns searching....searching. He found nothing.  He was exasperated.  He was not getting anywhere...not one inch closer to saving the colonists.
