Winds Die Down--Or Do They?

Time was one of many things White did not have. He did not have hope; he did not have his family and friends; he did not have his wonderful first idea of a colony on Chesapeake Bay.  He needed time if he was going to beat Fernandez back to England and tell Sir Walter Raleigh the Story first.
Then disaster...all of a sudden when they were only half way through the Atlantic all the trade winds just stopped.  The ship was not moving and they were using up all of their supplies.
    The winds were still gone.
White kept asking and praying for God to send some wind.  It all came in one huge storm.  It was wild and dangerous.  The winds then drove the ship off of its course.  Most of the sailors died resulting from sickness.
